All MRICS, FRICS, and AssocRICS members must:
- Complete a minimum of 20 hours CPD per calendar year.
- Undertake at least 10 hours of structured learning, such as webinars, seminars, conferences, lectures, workshops, and formal online courses.
- Record CPD activities digitally via RICS My Account or the new RICS Member App.
- Submit their annual CPD declaration by 31 January following the CPD year.
New Mandatory Topics
Over a rolling three-year period, members must complete structured CPD covering the following topics:
- Professional Ethics and Standards (previously each year)
- Sustainability
- AI, Data and Technology
The emphasis has moved away from simply achieving a number of hours and towards demonstrating relevant learning outcomes and maintaining professional competence. RICS has also increased its CPD auditing activity to review both the quality and relevance of learning undertaken.
